Billboards and bus advertisements like these have popped up all over Toronto. Who, you ask, is responsible for this funny yet thought-provoking campaign? It’s Ontario Colleges. More recently these posters have started started appearing as well:

You may be asking yourself what exactly Ontario Colleges is trying to communicate. Apparently, parents are putting a lot of pressure on kids to go to university, and the purpose of this campaign is to tell parents (and students) that colleges are another great option to consider. This got me thinking – credit union marketing folks could easily do something similar to present CUs as an alternative to banks. A viral, non-traditional and thought-provoking campaign to promote the entire credit union community would certainly make waves.
